Study Programs

Odiyana Center offers the three study and meditation programs of Kadampa Buddhism: the General Program, the Foundation Program, and Teacher Training Program. For information on local classes, click the links to the left.

General Program (GP)

The General Program provides a basic introduction to Buddhism and Buddha's teachings, It provides guided meditations, and a daily buddhist practice that is suitable for beginners. It also includes advanced buddhist practices from both of Buddha's Sutra and Tantric teachings.

Foundation Program (FP)

The Foundation Program (FP) provides an opportunity to deepen our understanding and experience of Buddhism through a systematic study of five of Geshe Kelsang's books. The foundation program requires a commitment to attend classes twice a week on Wednesday and Sunday Evenings. Please contact us to find out more about this special opportunity.

Teacher Training Program (TTP)

The Teacher Training Program (TTP) is designed for people who wish to train as authentic Kadampa Buddhist teachers. If we follow Buddha's example, we can become a great benefit to our world and society in general.

"We need to reflect again and again on the special opportunity we now have. If we develop a deep appreciation for the preciousness  of this life we will definitely make a determination to use it wisely.
Then we will feel as if our life has become truly meaningful."
- Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
